Privacy Policy

This is a working draft for App Store and Play Store submission. It will be confirmed against PIPEDA and BC requirements before launch. It is not yet legal advice.

Rungroove is a personal project operated from British Columbia, Canada. This policy explains what data the app and this website collect, why, and how to have it removed. The guiding rule is simple: collect as little as possible, and never sell any of it.

Who I am

Rungroove is built and operated by one person (“I”). You can reach me at the contact address on the support page.

This website

This marketing site collects no personal information. It has no signup form, no account, and no newsletter. It uses Vercel Analytics, which measures aggregate page traffic without cookies and without building a profile of you. No advertising or third-party tracking scripts load on this site.

The mobile app

When the app ships, it will collect only what it needs to work:

• Account data. If you create an account, the email address and authentication details you provide, stored through Supabase (the app’s backend).
• Spotify connection. If you link Spotify, the app uses Spotify’s authorization to read your library and create or modify playlists you ask it to. It requests the narrowest scopes required and does not read data it does not use.
• App usage. Basic, app-local records such as which race plans you have saved and how often a song has been used, so the app can avoid repeating tracks. This stays tied to your account.

The app does not store audio, access your microphone, track your location, or run background analysis.

Processors

Data is handled by a small number of services, each only for its stated purpose: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (website and app hosting), and Spotify (only when you link it). Each has its own privacy terms.

Retention and deletion

Account data is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account, and everything tied to it, from inside the app, or by emailing the address on the support page. Deletion is permanent and is honoured promptly.

Children

Rungroove is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the change will be posted here with a new date above.
